Thank you again :-D I was researching about all the marriage process since days when finally, yesterday 3:00am , I found your very detailed reply in this forum and that made me so happy, it was really worthy to stay awake until late hah! I mentioned my Work Visa expires in set 25 but it was a typo, it will expire on Sept 2026 , so I'm running against time ! I will start everything asap but I wonder about the 30 days window I'll have to show IRCC that I submitted the undertaking ...It's good to know I can count with your experience ! We're all lucky in this thread since you're teaching us !! Kind Regards :)

Well, if you're opting to do the common-law route, then you should apply in June 2026 and apply for the OWP as soon as you get your AOR. You will have implied status while your sponsor application (and while your OWP application) are in process. And with a bit of luck, you might be able to receive your OWP before the Sept 2026 exp date on your current work visa.

For the 30 day window once you get the Invitation to Apply, just follow my directions in that post you found. You can show them the receipt from when you mail the undertaking to MIFI to prove you submitted your CSQ application. That way even if it takes MIFI more than30 days to get the Confirmation of Receipt to you, IRCC will know that you've already submitted your paperwork to MIFI.

(And you're very welcome, I'm glad my knowledge has been of help)

How exciting! I definitely wasn't expecting this so soon given that I'm in Quebec, so that update was a pleasant surprise today. And congrats to you too, SkyEarth! I remember seeing you in these threads when I was in the trenches applying for my CSQ. Happy to see us both nearing the end of the tunnel!!!!

Two days later, tracker is now showing BGC as completed and the COPR number is there! Now just a matter of waiting for P1 and P2. Hope my faster-than-expected timeline offers some hope to us Quebec applicants!

edit: Got P1 this afternoon!
