My spouse, Main Applicant, got an ADR for updated original PCC.

We are continuing to review your application for admission to Canada. We require an updated original Police Certificate for you and your members of your family who are 18 years of age or older. According to our record we will need certificate(s) for the following individual(s):

xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxx

Please note: The above information/documents must be received within 60 days from the date of this correspondence. If this deadline is not met, your application will be assessed based on the information that was provided with your application and your application could be rejected. Please upload these documents to your IRCC secure account.

If the issuing authority procedure is to send the police certificate directly to the IRCC office, please refer them to the following address:

xxxx

If the documents are not already in English or French, all documents must be accompanied by English or French translations by certified translators. When original documents are requested, you must send original documents. We do not accept copies signed by notaries.

Is not very clear to us if we need to:

  • Get a new PCC and send it online
  • Get a new PCC and send it by mail
  • Send the old PCC by mail

We see no link to upload inside the application as per provided by the instructions directed by the letter, so we are inclining to send it by mail, but we are also wondering if they want a new one, because for Mexico's PCC they send a request letter that it's needed, and the old one is already void.

We are already working on getting a new one, and it will take a couple of weeks, so we would appreciate any help or information.

There should be new upload fields when you open the "Submitted documents" page by clicking on the "View submitted application or upload documents" link at the top of your Application Status page. Looks like they are asking for a new one. I would assume they are asking for a new one.

Hello! thank you for your response, there's no new upload fields there nor the required by date stated by the instructions. It's just our ITA stuff with no other fields.

Did you receive a request letter in the portal? or was this an email?
I think for requests sent through email there may not be an upload field. In that case, you can submit the document through a webform. The agent would then add it to the application manually. See this link: https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1311

Thank you for that link! i will upload like that probably.
It was received through the portal, its a full letter and indicates the PO BOX to send the documents by regular mail, but i left it out of the text to not give that information.
That and this part "When original documents are requested, you must send original documents. We do not accept copies signed by notaries" it's what makes me doubt.

I also think the logic would say it's online, but because Mexico's PCC it's hand made, I'm just not sure hahaa.

Make sure you submit the original document as well if it needs to be translated. Based on what you just mentioned sounds like the document you had submitted was not the original.
Also, goes without saying, but note that everything shared here is based on personal experience and opinions. Take what’s useful, double-check what you’re unsure about, and ultimately go with what feels right for your situation.

Good luck. I hope everything goes well.

Hey, thank you for your help ! I will do that. In considering sending a web form to ask.

This is just for archive in case another person sees this thread.

The document was sent like this inside a PDF.

-Index
-Translator affidavit
-Translation
-Stamped scan of the original
-Scan of the original document

I will update how I proceed.

There are a bunch of vague definitions of "not original", taking a black and white scan is also considered "not original" in this context. Even if the only thing in color as the stamp/signature, it needs to be scanned in color.

Expect to not hear back from the webform, consider calling them on the helpline number (usually futile, but who knows).

Hello! Thank you for responding also, it was color, everything. I just think the process took too much time from ITA to BIL and they want a new one.

I will call also, you're right, thank you again !

yeah, most likely if they thought your PCC was off, your application would've been returned as incomplete as you won't pass the R10 check. They usually cancel applications with PCC in wrong format (even with color issues). They likely want your updated PCC and that's it.

We thought the same, i guess we need to wait for the PCC request letter from the embassy then. Thank you for your help and reassurance!
