Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some guidance regarding my situation.
I did not disclose my foreign work experience in my study permit application, but I did disclose it in my PGWP application, and I’m now claiming CRS points for this same foreign work experience in my CEC Express Entry PR application.

(Also While applying for Study Permit my 1 year Experience was not completed)

The foreign job was paid in cash, but my employer is willing to support me with:
  • Detailed reference letter (job duties, hours, salary, employment dates)
  • Pay stubs (they can recreate and provide them)
  • Any other documents that may strengthen my application
My questions are:
  1. Could this difference in disclosure between my study permit and PR application cause issues such as refusal or misrepresentation?
  2. What documents should I collect from my employer to make my foreign experience as strong and credible as possible?
  3. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
    • Did you face any trouble (refusal, ADR, fairness letter, ban)?
    • Or did your PR get approved without issues?
Any advice or personal experience would be really helpful. Thank you!

1. Yes it can cause an issue. Would suggest you consult an immigration lawyer as to whether you should include the experience. If your only chance of getting selected is to include the foreign work experience then you run the risk of misrepresentation. Had you declared your work history you may not have received the study permit. The fact that you were paid in cash if not deposited in your bank afterwards could also be problematic.
