2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

I went to change my SIN number on ecopr and got and called CRA to update and they said it will automatically update in sometime a week as SERVICE CANADA send it to CRA.

Hi,

Anyone can clarify that would be appreciated.

So, right now I am protected person applied for PR in Dec 2023. Eligibility passed.

If I want to sponsor my wife who is already in canada on work permit(PGWP). Do I need to file under sponsor of protected person or add it in my application separately because looks like it will take more than 1 more year to finalize my application. And If I add her application with mine will it delay my application and the processing time will increase to 50 months that is for depandants of protected person but my wife is in canada not abroad.

I am confused here. Or should I wait until I get my PR done and after that I apply for her PR. She has 2.5 years more left in her work permit to expire.

So if I apply after getting PR, will her PR application processing time comes down to regular in Canada spousal sponsorship timing or will it be the same 50 months that is for dependants of protected person.

will take up to 7 days . then try to create new myCRA account.

yes your current CRA account will be inactivate then you can create new one with new sin number. then you can see your previous all tax records.

I don't think you can include her in your PR application(if you have already submitted), however you can inform your family composition, marriage. Informing IRCC about your marriage doesn’t automatically include your spouse in your current PR file.
Once you receive your PR, you can apply to sponsor her under the IN-CANADA SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP category.


P.S. I'm not an expert, verify above information with immigration lawyer.

How come all the new accounts are sharing updates for april….not sure who to believe in this forum

this is the best way to go. You can incluee her now; but know that will add extra long processing to tour application. It ia better to get your Pr and then add her . Just update that tou are married to ircc.
