Study Permit Application Withdrawn by Mistake – Need Advice

Hello everyone,


I need some guidance regarding my Canadian study permit application. I recently submitted a second application after my first study permit was refused. The second application includes updated explanations and documents, and I submitted it intentionally.


However, I just received a withdraw letter “Lettre de retrait” from the Canadian Embassy in Morocco (Rabat) stating that my second application has been withdrawn and closed.


I never requested this withdrawal, so it appears to be an administrative mistake ,possibly because the second application was submitted very shortly after the first one, and some documents are similar but i don't know why for sure


I have already submitted a Webform to IRCC explaining the situation and asking for the application to be reopened. I am also considering calling the embassy to clarify.


Has anyone here experienced a similar situation, particularly:

• Second study permit submitted shortly after a refusal
• Application withdrawn by mistake by the embassy
• How long it took for IRCC to reopen the file
• Any tips to speed up the reopening process

Any advice, personal experience, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

No timelines to reopen so you wait. No way to expedite either as easier and faster to reapply.

Thank you for the answer , but is it something normal happening or a special case or any advice , I can't really afford applying for a third time :/

I know nothing about your profile, school, reasons for refusal, valid PAL etc so cannot comment why it was withdrawn. Order GCMS notes and find out if officer notes tell why. If submitted a webform then wait for a response.

The letter stated that the application was withdrawn at my request, but that's the thing. I never made any request to withdraw or nothing related

So order GCMS notes and wait for webform response. Does program start in January because may need to defer with new PAL.

yep its starting mid January, do you know how much time thet take to answer the webform?

There are no timelines for webform. Could take weeks or months to know if your file is even reopened. What school and program starts mid January?
