Long Background Check After Eligibility Passed Please Share Your Experience

My husband and I are stuck in the same boat. Submitted our application July 2024 and we are still in background check since December. I’ve reached out to our office several times and they just keep saying we have a “non-routine” file. Very frustrating.

As non-routine there is essentially no timeline.

I’m reaching out to hear from others who have been through a similar situation. My application status shows “Eligibility Completed”, but I’ve been waiting for a long time now with no updates on the background check.

If you’ve experienced a long wait after eligibility was completed, could you please share:

How long your background check took after eligibility?
What, if anything, you did to help move the process along (e.g., webform requests, MP inquiry, GCMS notes)?

Any advice or tips that helped you stay informed or get an update?

No updates every time I speak to my lawyer and MP. I'm exhausted sending a web-form to IRCC a getting the same response back your file is in process if we need more information we will contact you.
Trust me no one can do anything I've been waiting from the past 21 months.

No updates at all
I heard immigration is gonna announce a new processing time on 3rd November.

Mostly Timeline is gonna increase further. Processing is expected to be delayed for this year for sure.

same here their Medical expired in July this year and no email.
