Finally got my oath ceremony, my LPP was done 3 months ago and haven't received the ceremony yet. Scheduled for Nov 18th. Good luck everyone.
I am actually curious what you meant. To me it would be like asking about the applicant's height, shouldn't have any effect on the various steps.
Yes you are 100% right. Asking where you applied knowing well that different offices have been having different processing times is the same as asking your height.

I think he is curious to know if you are from Montreal. There are a bunch of us who applied from Montreal here and seem to be stuck either in prohibitions, background, or both together. I also see Vancouver folks are getting delays as well.
Ah. Remember, everyone applies (basically) through the same office - online, wherever they route that.
A few (several?) months ago there was constant obsessions with 'what office is processing your file', and esp complaints that Vancouver is exceptionally slow.
I think that question is now settled - it's (mostly) nonsense* - confirmed that Vancouver just seems to be the office that is 'responsible' for the security/prohibitions/background parts. Since those are the parts that slow applications the most (like 90% of the time), 'slow' files always seem to be caught up in Vancouver.
So a complete waste of time to worry about that (and call and insist on knowing from IRCC which office currently processing) - and the discussions seem to have mostly forgotten about that. (Although possibly I'm not following as closely)
Or in other words, although some think it is 'well known' that different offices have different processing times, I don't think that's true/see no clear evidence it is the case. (The vancouver thing I consider settled - if a specific office takes on a specific task, that all files have to go through, it's the task that's slow, not the office)
* Small exception is that the oath scheduling done (I think) locally, at least for the in-person oath ceremonies, and some places just don't have physical ceremonies as often as others - for those that ask for them. Unclear whether this is a factor for virtual, but if it is, probably marginal.

Our posts crossed. As you can see (above), I think the talk about where one is from and which office is complete and utter nonsense. (Caveat: one possible exception is applicants applying from abroad, and I don't see a clear trend on that, either)
Another "this can't be just a coincidence" thing in the one case (news flash: 'just coincidences' happen, statistically), and in the other (Vancouver) - confirmed nonsense.
As far as I'm concerned. But those who think that rubbing sticks together will speed up their files are welcome to try that, too.
I also got physical presence and language green today after silence City from June 2. Background and prohibition still in progress!
Friends, I don't mean to jump the gun but since lots of people got their language and physical, could that be a sign that background is coming to?

If you think positively, you got 2 additional ticks on your application and you are getting closer. But background is possibly more complex and depends on your situation. You could get it in days, weeks or month. I got my background done in less than 2 months after AOR whereas my wife is still waiting for her background (6 months and counting).Friends, I don't mean to jump the gun but since lots of people got their language and physical, could that be a sign that background is coming to?
That is great news. You will get all of the emails in good time and once you have set up your portal to download the certificate it will be super easy after the ceremony. After my Oath on the Saturday (online) I downloaded my certificate on the Sunday and walked into the Passport office on Tuesday to submit passport application. REALLY easy, and makes all of the waiting finally seem worth it.

Congratulations. Don't forget to sign up to the Federal and Provincial electoral registers. (very easy to do, and you will be added to the list the next day following a check, I had to upload a copy of Driving license)
The passport office will also be super excited for you when you say you are a new citizen (it was a great experience getting the passport sorted as well!!
