I’m convinced most Westerners — Canadians included — privately agree with sentiments like this, even if they can’t express them openly. In the UK, saying something similar could easily bring the police to your door.
After speaking with other refugees in Canada, I’ve come to believe that over 60% of asylum claims in Europe and North America are not genuine. Even when the IRB rejects a claim, many applicants are still allowed to stay under the PRRA process.
From what I’ve personally seen:
– Some claim religious persecution yet continue practicing the same faith here.
– Some from Africa claim persecution for sexuality but live straight lives in Canada.
– Others from Middle East/South/Central America claim political persecution but vacation back home by land.
– Many never seek formal employment, instead relying on undeclared work combined with welfare.
– Some international students simply want to stay after failing to qualify for permanent residence.
These cases — which seem to form the majority — are clogging the system and drastically increasing wait times. The focus should be on stronger scrutiny and enforcement, not on changing laws or seeking more privileges in the countries that granted us safety.
The refugee system must remain a protection mechanism, not an easy backdoor to permanent residence.
Family reunification is a huge concern that affects all refugees, but it’s not the only one.
Protected Persons in Canada often find themselves trapped, unable to travel freely anywhere in the world. Yes, they sought protection, but they didn’t ask to live as if in a form of confinement for ten years or more. That’s inhumane.
For many, this restriction extends beyond emotional hardship.. it infringes on basic rights. For example, Muslim Protected Persons cannot visit Saudi Arabia for religious obligations because the country doesn’t accept Refugee Travel Documents. This means they are effectively being denied the right to practice their faith fully.
Seeking safety should not come at the cost of one’s humanity or religious freedom
There is no specific timeline to make the hajj. You could have technically done it before coming to Canada and you can also do it after getting Canadian citizenship. Not sure why Canada is to blame for KSA putting visa limits on who can go to Mecca.
You always had the option to apply for an economic immigration stream. In all countries asylum seekers are a small percentage of pathways to PR not the majority. Blame the Trudeau government if you want to blame anyone. They essentially stopped vetting most temporary applications and encouraged people to come to Canada as asylum seekers. More people have been able to claim asylum but it was very obvious to anyone involved in immigration that there would be a problem when they all applied for PR. Although you are wanting fairness asylum seekers and refugees in Canada are afforded a lot of extra benefits that Canadian citizens are entitled to. There are many on work permits or study permits who have also contributed to Canada who have no guaranteed pathway to PR and will have to return home.
There are doctors on WPs so the argument isn’t true. There are some jobs that do require PR or citizenship. Not being able to afford to Disneyland, like many Canadians, is not a reason why Canada should change their immigration targets. With an RTD you can apply for a US visa so there will be protected people who are able to go to Disneyworld or Disneyland. You have a guaranteed pathway to PR unlike most temporary residents in Canada.

Have not said anything racist. Me pointing out policy and consequences of government policy is not racist at all. I have been warning about exactly what is happening for years because the math never mathed. Canada welcoming a very large number of temporary residents (students and workers), H&C cases on OWPs with no cap, overshooting the already very large target number for refugees and also welcoming a very large number of asylum seekers was always going to be a huge issue when it came to people wanting to apply for PR. Immigration lawyers, consultants, IRCC bureaucrats, policy makers and even casual observers of immigration predicted this huge problem years ago yet the government only started to try and do something about it in 2024. They are now actually getting serious about trying to deal with some of the serious issues and the consequences through bill c-2 and it’s modifications. Only one of the insane things that happened at IRCC for years. Sadly it will take 5-10 years to correct the mess that was created.
Oh, so now you’re the authority on who deserves safety? People didn’t choose to be asylum seekers
they fled danger. When your life’s at risk, you don’t sit down comparing Express Entry points; you run for your life.
Protected persons will get permanent residency. That’s not a “favor,” it’s the law. Canada made that commitment, and no amount of complaining changes it. We’ve already applied, and it’s just a matter of time, patience, not privilege.
You talk about fairness like it’s your personal trademark, but what you really mean is keeping certain people waiting while others move ahead. Refugees aren’t getting handouts, we’re rebuilding from nothing, following the rules, and still being told to “wait quietly.”
So maybe before lecturing others about immigration policy, try understanding what it means to actually earn stability instead of gatekeeping it.
I have no idea about h&c and people how they are going through and policy. But I have sympathy with them. Even I was sad about Canadian kids not getting hired on summer jobs.

they are hanging around critisizing your lifestyle such as your women who are nude and bullying lgbt people and making protests outside and even spreading islam by disrtributing qurans ( book ) freely because it is legal so they are taking advantage of democracy and this way it makes the west the best land to spread this islamic agenda . they will laugh at you because eat pork and pray in streets and block roads.
ive seen ex muslims being attacked in montreal downtown and the perpetrators were muslims asylaum claimants. how this make sense.
there are mosquees near me where they only openly call for assault on christians jews and apostats , atheists
North africans and muslims in general show no respect to the host country which welcome and feel entitled to all preveleges their only aim is to make shariaa law in west and have most whites convert to this ideology
