Hi Everyone,

i got my PR and I am landing by the end of this month. I just wish to know which documents are needed to show the proof of funds to the CBSA officer?

Hi @ShuKhiBhamNdri, congrats on your PR!

At the airport, the CBSA officer will want to see proof of funds, usually: recent bank statements, investment statements, or letters from your bank showing you have enough money to support yourself (and family, if applicable). Just make sure it’s recent, in your name, and easy to show.

Safe travels!

Investment statements don't work, unless they show liquid funds. Stop peddling poor advice.

Thank you so much....

So, I should take last 6 months bank statement and the bank balance certificate with me, right?

One more thing, can I take these 2 things from bank 10-15 days before the landing in Canada?

They don't really care that much for bank balance certificate. If you have a 6 month or even an update recent month's bank balance - they should be fine. For an officer to reject at PoE, he has to confidently say "the applicant doesn't meet the PoF criteria" -> if you have updated bank statements, no officer can do that you. In most cases, they don't even ask for PoF proof at PoE and it is a rather quick process. With that being said, not being able to show PoF (updated) can be risky, so always take updated statements.

Best of luck! Depending on where you are land, it is going to get it cold, very cold or meh cold. Be prepared :)
