How long does Portal 2 take after Portal 1.?
My parents file is from 2023 pool and Portal 1 came July 4th/2025. There has veen no movement since almost 75 days. It's so frustrating that the IRCC processing is so slow.

Getting PGP is literally like winning the lottery these days. Given Canada’s health care crisis and ageing population it’s slightly shocking it even exists and many Canadians were outraged when they suddenly discovered the program existed this year. Processing when you got selected was around 3 years so still within processing time. Do people forget how many hundreds of thousands of people would kill to be in their place? Although frustrating a little perspective is also important.

Hi,

Looking for help.

I got the document request today after one year of waiting. Officer requested for military records.
My father never served in army I don't know if there is any proof of exemption certificate from any agencies, or should i just submit affidavit stating that my father didn't served the military.

that's so weird. At least you got an update, so that is a plus. I don't think there is a letter that you get from the agencies. IMO, your best bet is to submit an affidavit stating that your father has never served in the military and hopefully that suffices. I would also order GCMS notes to see if you can find any indication of what might have prompted the officer to think your father was in the military. That way, IF the affidavit isn't good enough, you know what else to address in the subsequent request. Good luck.

I have been seeing quite a bunch of people on fbook saying that they've requested to submit military records!

Hope that's not the case for us; my parents have had nothing to do with the services.

here's to hoping! we are coming up to 24 months now - I am hoping that the approvals are just around the corner and there is no more waiting.

Thanks for the reply. Today parents got the golden COPR letter. You are so right. Gratitude is very important as these chances of getting file picked are so scarce. Your reply really brought me to think of the day in October 2023 when we got the email for the file to be picked up in the lottery. Thanks again everyone for their support. Kind regards to all members.
