Fall study permit deferred to Winter

Hi Friends,

I applied for a study permit for the Fall semester and received my university offer letter. I also paid the first semester’s fees. However, due to delays in IRCC processing, I deferred my admission to the Winter semester and submitted a webform with the updated Letter of Acceptance from the university.

It has been 11 weeks now, and my IRCC application still shows as pending under the eligibility review and background check stages.

I just wanted to check if anyone here has received their study permit for the Winter semester. Please share your updates.

Thanks for your response. I have applied from India on July 30th 2025. Just want to know if IRCC started issuing Winter study permits?

I’m experiencing the same thing unfortunately. I submitted my application on July 26th and it’s been stuck at Eligibility review since August 13th. I had to defer my admission to January so I sent IRCC an updated LOA and PAL via webform.
I’m really worried because a lot of people who applied after me have gotten their decision. It’s been 11 weeks.

Oh ok. Can someone confirm who applied from India received your decision and study permit approval from IRCC? Or can someone suggest whether we can reach to IRCC and ask for the update?
