I applied for my PGWP on Jan 18, but withdrew it on Jan 26 because I realized I’d made some mistakes (answered “no” to “Have you had a Canadian visa before?”, didn’t include passport stamps, and my status should have been 'common-law' and I instead added single).

I submitted a new PGWP application on Jan 27, and it’s already been approved just last August 5, 2025.

I’ve also sent two ATIP requests, one to IRCC and one to CBSA. But I haven’t gotten any updates on the withdrawn application. The withdrawal of the first PGWP app is still “in progress” even though they’ve already approved my new PGWP app.

It was a super stressful time for me because of some personal stuff, so I lost focus and didn't pay attention to details. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same delay. And is there chances that they've flagged it for misrepresentations for the mistakes I've made?

Any comment is appreciated.

Thanks you so much!

Hi, I am posting it on behalf of a friend. She came to Canada on Study Permit to study in Vancouver, BC in december 2023. Her semester was to start in Jan 2024. She changed her college and gpt admission in Canadore college in North Bay ON and the study stated in May 2024. To cover the gap she took admission in a pvt. college from jan 2024 to may 2024. After thst she smoothly completed her studies in Canadore. Now, while applying for her PGWP she is not sure that her agent updated her DLI number to IRCC or not. Will it have any repercussions? or updating DLI wasn't mandatory before November 08, 2024?

Please advise

She never attended the college she was granted the study permit and didn’t reapply for a new study permit or even inform IRCC so yes this will likely be an issue.

But, applying a new permit while changing school rule came on November 08, 2024 and she already changed and joined Canadore before that.

Updating change of DLI was always mandatory before Nov. 2024. Now need new study permit. So she notified IRCC about the change of DLI? She still needed to do that. She could not just change schools.

She isn't sure that her agent notified about change in DLI or not. Is that can be checked?
Or what is the solution now.

Well too late now. She will find out when she applies for PGWP. She can call IRCC and see if Canadore is the DLI listed. If not it cannot be changed now, and her study permit may have been cancelled a long time ago.

Hard to remember but wasn’t that still a time when you had to complete a semester in the school on your study permit before you could change schools without issue?
