hello guys!
I am not sure if my case is in SS or not. Could you please share some insights?
I got my GCMS today, and it shows as follows.
CLEARANCE REQUEST(S):
RCMP/CSIS: Y
also, it says:
CLEARANCES
SECURITY
SECURITY:1
UCI#
NAMES
TYPE: SECURITY CLEARANCE

I submitted my application in late March 2025, and only the test was completed; everything else was in process.
Hang on, when did you submit your application? Is it late March 2025? This is a 2023 application thread......

Hi I submitted my application in Dec 2023. Got my citizenship test in Feb and language & Residency done by Aug. Since then it has no updates. I got my GCMS notes and there is nothing either.
No updates sine aug 2024. It is pending security clearnace.

Any ideas, any thoughts?

You have to wait.
Nothing will show till Dec 2025. The minimum wait is 24 months now

I don't believe this 'minimum wait' is true. It may be for some specific pipeline or subset of apps, or a series of apps that have actually taken >24 months, but no way to know in advance (as far as I'm aware) that one's app is "in" some group for which 24 months is a minimum.

Just keep on telling me that it is pending security clearance, nothing is needed. My criminality is passed as per GCMS notes.

While I am not arguing that, yet given that the application was submitted Dec 2023 (I assume AOR Jan) and with no updates since Aug 2024!

Hmm, let me guess, stuck in SS and Probation?
Then, good luck getting any movement before Dec 2025

I wish someone could share some better news, but I am realistic here with Nov 2023 application and no movement since early 2024 :)

Please - that is exactly what you said, "The minimum wait is 24 months now."

You may think it applies, and it might be relevant in this case - but it's not some 'minimum.' Just say something simple like 'it seems files that are delayed this long are taking 24 months or more.'

Processing time for non-routine applications involving security screening is typically 24–36 months. It is unfair and bad news, —but it is reality IRCC will never share. Ironically, this wait time is nearly equal to the entire physical presence requirement for citizenship (i.e., three years).

You know what - I do not mind 24 and even 30 months of screening, but I wish they actually gave an official limit. No oone wants to be hanging for 5-10 years.

Agree 100%. I don’t mind waiting either, but I really hate the lack of transparency and the uncertainty. Not knowing the timeline makes it impossible to plan and causes unnecessary stress.
