Yes it’s all liquid cash in her personal bank account. We then added her business account and stated the balance as well. That had more than what was in her personal bank account. Because we generated statement from the head office; she has 3 branches

i just ordered gcms notes this morning because the the response came last night. My invitation letter was to invite her to help out with the baby has we currently also have a toddler who she also hasn’t met since he was just about 6 months old when we went back to our home country.

I got my PR through the federal express entry route in 2022. We are originally from Nigeria and my mother lives in Nigeria where she operates her business. I’ve 4 other siblings 2 in Nigeria and 2 in India studying none of which are below 22 years of age. My mother is a widow as my dad passed in 2019.

Would avoid wording like help out in the future and would use words like spending time or visiting with her grandchildren and daughter. If your siblings in Nigeria have children and especially if they live nearby I would highlight how involved your mother is and how much time she spends with them and what she does with them on a regular basis. Basically reinforcing ties with her family in Nigeria. There are many Nigerians who arrive in Canada and attempt to remain via various means so that is one concern. The fact that you have young children increases her ties to Canada which is why it would be good to highlight any other grandchildren outside Canada. Her length of visit is quite long so if she does not travel frequently I would probably mention that her visit is longer than perhaps other grandparents but due to the cost and distance from Canada and other commitments she will not be able to travel to Canada very often. Would suggest addressing every point mentioned in the GCMS notes when you attempt to reapply for a TRV.

Thank you so much. I will consider all of this in my next invitation letter. The two siblings in Nigeria are older and married and both have children so that’s a good point based on your recommendation. She also has a couple of NGOs she’s affiliated with so maybe I’d include that as well. I appreciate your thoughts on this.

Reinforcing any of her ties to Nigeria and reasons why she would return home is a good idea. For example if she works with the NGOs in person you could also get a letter from them describing her commitments to them especially in person.

Over a year for JR. The big issue is that your mother has the ability to visit Canada for years and your brother has minimal ties to his home country. You should have applied for normal visitor visa for your mother with your brother as a dependent if she had strong ties to return home. Still any have been challenging to get approved. Is your mother still married to your father? Is she employed? Does she own a home? How long did your brother request to visit?

If your mother needs someone to accompany her then maybe she is not fit to visit. Otherwise you may need to find alternate arrangements. There are obviously concerns that your brother will remain in Canada. Does he live with his father in his home country? How long did your mother request to visit Canada? What country are they from?

How to apply for reconsideration and how long after applying for reconsideration was visa approved?

Google - IRCC reconsideration and follow the instructions. Outline the error in law. There are no timelines for reconsideration on even whether your file will be re-opened.
