Hi everyone,


I submitted my application for Canadian citizenship on March 7th and received my AOR on March 27th. Since then, I haven’t received any updates—no test invitation, nothing at all.

Is this normal? Do you think I should just wait, or is there something else I can do? I’d really appreciate your suggestions and advice.

Hi All, Got updates yesterday over the weekend for my wife. Timelines below:-

Application Filed: Apr 03
Citizenship test scheduled: June 06
Test taken: June 10
Test status update: June 20
Background Verification completed: Aug 28
Prohibitions: Sep 11
Physical Presence: Sep 11
Language Skills: Sep 11
Citizenship Oath: Oct 06 (Haven't received the email yet but i believe since the updates came over the weekend, we will receive the email tomorrow)

Hi, the last update on my application is for a month ago, on Aug 13, when prohibitions, language, and physical presence completed. After that no update or email! Anyone with similar situation?

Not an expert but from all that I have seen, just the FP request by itself doesnt make cases non-routine. Its what comes in their checks may do.

As I have read one of the popular members on this forum often comment, the applicant themselves has the most information about their profile. Basically, do you have something in your background that may cause closer look or scrutiny and applicant themselves have the best insight into that.

Yep. In my case I have a super super common name (think "John Doe" or "John Smith") so there's gotta be a gazillion matches, that's the only reason. Otherwise, in terms of things about my background that I would know about, there's absolutely nothing.

My LPP was completed on 2nd Sept and still says NOT started. I have seen many on here having oaths scheduled after me, but then on a FB site loads of people are still waiting....2 weeks, 3 weeks etc...seems to be very little reason to it..Maybe its purely down to open spots that are available in the area.
However, the LPP is the last part and assuming that hurdle is cleared it is simply the waiting game on the date of ceremony..nothing else.

Hmm, maybe. Two questions - first, did you also get an FP request like me? Second, how do you know your LPP was completed on 2nd Sept if the tracker is saying it's still not started? (At least my tracker has those things in progress..)

Slightly different, in my case those things haven't been completed yet. Last update was in July showing that my test had been completed. Even though I got FP request and sent it, neither appears in the timeline of my tracker.

Aug 21 for me but yes. There are at least a few of us in this thread. Truly no idea why though, as others are getting oaths scheduled. Fingers crossed for you soon, a month is so long.

Edit: I just checked for myself and nothing on the tracker yet today. If there's a 2 day delay though, probably wouldn't see anything until Wednesday earliest.

The only answer which might be the usual you hear, is to wait. Sometimes 1 or more updates happen at once. Just be patient.

Anyone who’s LP hasn’t started ..may 8 th aor and I called ircc they told me mine LPP hasn’t started yet

May 2nd AOR, BG completed May 9th ...and everything is in progress

I logged in to the tracker after a while today (September 16) and was pleasantly surprised to see Citizenship Ceremony status turned to ‘In progress’ on September 8.

Orange box atop the website says the oath is scheduled for October 1.

Still haven’t received the email with ceremony details so waiting for it with bated breath.
