Study Permit Processing Delays 2025

Hi all
I have applied for study permit along with SOWP for my partner on the same day from India.
Applied 30th August 2025
Biometric on 4th September
Biometric updated on same day as per agent
IRCC tracker shows background check in progress
Study permit for 2 year MBA in University
Paid 1st year fees in advance
Paid in GIC account as per requirement
Bank statements of approx CAD54k
Student loan of approx CAD 25k
Upfront medical submitted
Currently it shows 3 weeks processing time for study permit and 7 weeks for work permit from India. Do we get any update on tracker regarding medical complete, background complete or we just get email about final decision?

Would take the processing times with a grain of salt and prepare for longer ones. Hopefully you are attending a public university. If a top program and simple application some get processed faster but given level of funds can’t imagine you’re attending UofT, UBC, York, Western, McGill, Queens, etc.
School for only international students...lucky you got PAL. All you can do is wait. But taking a loan for UCW is not a great investment. Hopefully approved.
Thanks for reply. I thought I might as well take out loan just incase if required however, we have enough funds to support. Honestly, I was not much aware that its hard to get PAL from there as it was straight forward for me.
I have done Bachelors in commerce then bachelors in Law from India and relevant experience of 5 years.
Hopefully fingers crossed.
Waiting for this school to close down now that masters degrees also require PAL and volume of international students has decreased. Not sure how these provinces keep supporting these private schools.
Right. Yes, heard international students are decreasing this year. Hopefully I get approved soon.
UCW is a private school that feeds off of international students and really should not be operating. It is probably one of the lowest (if not lowest) MBA schools in the country and businesses outside of downtown Vancouver have not even heard of it. If you are going to take a MBA then you go to a public university like UBC. It is a "diploma mill" and domestic students don't attend the school.
Now that international study permits are decreasing, UCW may cease to exist in its current form or lose status for PGWP.
