March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

So as some of you may know I was invited to the 'Citizenship to Passport' pilot program. I became a citizen on August 19, but was able to submit my passport application a week (or so) early. This program is not offered as a rush service at all. Rather, it allows you to start the application process once your citizenship application has been approved (and before your oath ceremony).

Today, quite unexpectedly, I got my shiny new Canadian passport in the mail. Almost makes me wish I had international travel plans soon...

It's quite a thing to hold that Canadian passport with your own photo in it. Hope all you remaining March applicants get wrapped up quickly!

I am in the same boat. I am in Oakville and waiting for oath since 24-June. LPP updated on 20-June and updated on 24-June. Family application. Ialso called them and was informed that the application is with ceremony team for scheduling in person oath.

Family application is the slowest when it comes to Oath date (it seems spots are so limited for Halton region )

Hi guys. Language and Physical Presence are completed on 27th August but Prohibitions still in progress. I thought these 3 are completed together. Is there anybody in same situation?

Hi All,
Reposting this. Unfortunately there is no change and i am still waiting for the oath invite.
Everything marked complete since June 20, 2025, but still waiting for an oath invite. I also called IRCC, and they informed me that everything is complete and only the oath is pending. They said our file is with the ceremony team to schedule an in-person oath, but I’m not sure why there is a delay.
Is anyone else from Oakville (or GTA) experiencing similar delays? Is there anything I can do to follow up?

Hi, anyone had a ghost update before receiving the oath invitation ? My last updates were the BG (July 15) and Test (mid June), but yesterday I had a GU - I might be grasping at straws here but was hoping it was a good sign.

That's awesome!! Originally I thought one had to enlist for the pilot program but then found out that it's limited invites only. I applied for mine a few days after I became a citizen (Aug 18th) and am expecting to receive my passport in a few weeks.

Prohibitions, Physical Presence and Language skills updated to complete yesterday. Tracker shows it was completed on Sept 4th. Just waiting for an update on Oath. It says Citizenship ceremony not started.

Yes, it’s a virtual ceremony (I’m guessing with Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax or Montreal) because there’s no in-person ceremony scheduled in the GTA for that date.

We should get the email this week, all things being equal. Will update once I receive mine.

I called IRCC today, the agent told me to wait until Wednesday and if I still have not received the oath invitation she asked me to give a call and they will place a request to the scheduling office. Probably we will be in the same ceremony.
