The letter means very little. It doesn’t guarantee they will be able to come to Canada or there is a timeline where they may get a response about their file. It is likely a response to Canada knowing people are being deported back to Afghanistan and so they have provided the letter although realistically it may have minimal impact.
you clearly don’t know how this works. Stop spreading misinformation. That letter does matter.

it confirms IRCC is processing the case and keeps people from being deported back to Afghanistan while they wait. Calling it “very little” is just ignorant nonsense. If you don’t actually understand the process, maybe keep quiet instead of discouraging people who are already in a tough spot.

thank you so much for your respons! The letter made me happy because that was the first sign after a long wait and I want to believe that it means that IRCC has opened their case because we got it for each family member with name and date of birth.

genuinely cant make sense of this guy
He is always negative about everything and acts like he knows it all. Not every app needs his opinion especially when he doesn’t even understand what it is. That IRCC letter actually matters. It clearly says IRCC knows what’s going on and they are working on it.

It can only ask Pakistan to not deport people Canada can’t prevent deportations from another country. This is why many in this situation are in hiding in Pakistan. The letter may or may not be helpful if you get caught without status in Pakistan. People should not assume it will help and take precautions.

Again, you have no idea, how it works. literally zero idea.

This is good thread- Thanks for starting.

I know a family whose SAH application got submitted in November, 2025, and have their approval in December 2025 (very recent). Islamabad is their visa processing center. As like many others, they are very worried that they can be deported back to Afghanistan which could potentially impact their application. I, however, see that Islamabad visa office has now expedited case processing time compare to many other countries like Turkey.

Those who has their case process in Islamabad, can you please share your timeline?

Thanks,
SAHRefugee
