Greetings fellow members,
I seek help selecting programs for my sister in Ontario. She hold bachelor of animal and husbandry from India and she has been practicing animal medicine and surgeries for 5 years. She hold Canada visitor visa and have travelled to Canada twice in last 4 years. She wants to apply for student visa under veterinary tech / assistant related programs, are these programs good choice for student visa application? She is LTE score of 59. We are open to experts suggestions.
Thank you in advance.

That would make no sense. She would need to do a degree that would lead to a career progression. She should explore whether she can get licensed as a veterinarian in Canada and work towards that because there is a shortage of vets in Canada. Otherwise a masters degree would be the best option if she wants to study in Canada.

Yes I absolutely agree with you, but our goal is to bring her in Canada asap. She already wasted 1 year after English improvement and with busy work schedule and family ties in India she is not able to put enough time into English improvements. She has part time job connection at vet clinics in local Ontario area,. We are doing this for easy pathway into Canada. She already has cleared one of the license exam and now preparing to NAVLE exam. once she clears it there is no guarantee she will get hired as foreigner, hence to improve her chances of becoming license vet we want her to move here with student visa. She has 59 score of PTE and I think only diploma works best for her.

Just as a starter , if her English isn’t up to par , how do you expect her to go to school in an English speaking country, and furthermore, be a vet ?

Plus the Government is cutting the number of international student visas allocated . One to come , get their education and use that education when they return . It’s extremely hard to get PR .

And as mentioned, doing a diploma when one has a bachelors is a non starter . It screams immigration intent

And asap isn’t a word used by the IRCC

The issue it will be also very clear to IRCC that is the intent which is why it is problematic.
