I applied for canadian study permit on 7th May 2025 from Uganda and I was wondering what processing time looks like for people who got a response/still waiting. I will share mine below:


Submitted application 7 May
Biometrics 9 May
Last update on tracker 12 May

Eligibility did not start yet
No update at all,

I applied (from outside Canada) for new study permit via GCKey on March 24, Medicals, biometrics, eligibility all approved by April 7, but no update since. In IRCC tracker, I have all completed all except background verification. I submitted multiple webforms but no response.

Hello have you heard from Ircc yet ?

No it says my application is still in process. Sent multiple webforms and also contacted my local MP to see if they can push them to get it moving (not a guarantee but worth a shot). I also called and spoke to an agent she said that inland permits are 172 days and that I should just be patient, even though their website says 6 weeks which is very misleading. My classes start tomorrow and I don’t think I can even defer anymore, so hoping to hear good news this week.

Correspondence Letter : September 2, 2025

Final Decision: September 2, 2025 (haven’t gotten the email yet but it says approved in the portal)

Your situation is incredibly different. Getting a study permit inland while a protected person is essentially guaranteed.

Hey guys! I got my study permit approval and my passport stamped with the visa sticker last week. However, I still do not have a letter of introduction or POE letter in my GCKey portal, even though my passport was stamped over a week ago. I've tried raising webforms, but I'm only getting generic responses back. I can even see my study permit details in my tracker account, but still no POE letter. Does anyone have any idea what I should do? I have a flight planned in a week or so, but this situation has got me worried.
