Help Needed: Confusion on PR Date vs. Entry Date for Citizenship Application

Hello,

I am applying for citizenship and have a question about the “Date became PR” to use. I was an inland applicant for PR.

• My eCOPR shows that I became a permanent resident on 13 January. That's the date that reflects on my PR card too.
• However, I was outside Canada on that date and only returned on 18 January.
• When I enter the date returned on the physical presence calculator, it does not let me enter that date and says "This date must be before or the same as the date you became a permanent resident."

So I’m unsure:

1. Should I still list 13 January (as per my eCOPR/PR Card) as the date I became PR?
2. Or should I use 18 January, the date I first entered Canada as a PR?
3. Has anyone else faced this situation, and how did you handle it in the physical presence calculator and application?

Any advice or clarification would be really appreciated. Thanks!

In situations like this, you can put what satisfies the system (like you could add a trip to Canada on 13, and another trip leaving the country on 13 again), add an explanation letter, and have a buffer of days to cover for the ones the system made you claim but we're not days of physical presence in the country.

Thank you so much @Seym. So the date you became PR I should use the date in my PR card/eCoPR rite?

Yep. Put January 13 as the day you came back as a PR, and add another trip from January 13 to 18. This will give you credit for a day of physical presence you don't deserve, explain in the explanation letter what you did and why.
