ITA in September but Travelling Abroad November–December – Any Issues? (JUST AN EXAMPLE SCENARIO)

Hi everyone,

This is just an example scenario:

I’d like to ask for advice regarding my Express Entry application.

• Let' say for example, I received my ITA this SEPTEMBER.
• If that happens, I’ll be submitting my PR application around October.
• However, I need to travel back HOME from November and go back to Canada December for family emergency reasons.

Will travelling abroad affect my PR application after I submit all my documents or What will happen?

My friend told me Work permit will be voided once I get invited to PR and submitted my application.


I currently live and work in Ontario, have valid status, and will return to Canada after my trip. I also still have a VALID Work Permit until 2027.

Nope! Your temporary statuses are ONLY revoked when you become a PR - that's after getting eCoPR or either landing with a paper CoPR.

Your biometrics is pending and you might get an invite for that after AOR. You can inform IRCC that you are outside of Canada before leaving so that they can accommodate anything that's needed to be accommodated.

You need a valid TRV to enter.

do i need to apply for TRV? cause in my work permit they also gave me a VALID ETA to travel by AIR. I hope that makes sense?
