Has anyone recently received any ghost updates? how much time does it take to receive a real update after a ghost one?

Got a GU on July 26th, then LPP was updated on the tracker August 13th.

I wanted to share my citizenship application progress and get your thoughts on what I should expect next or what steps I could take. Here's my timeline so far:

Background verification - In progress
Prohibitions - In progress
Citizenship ceremony - Not started

June 04, 2025 - Ghost update
Apr 24, 2025 - Activity status updated: Physical presence
Apr 24, 2025 - Activity status updated: Language skills
Apr 24, 2025 - Interview required
Feb 21, 2025 - Activity status updated: Citizenship test
Feb 7, 2025 - Scheduled for citizenship test
Jan 28, 2025 - Activity status updated: Citizenship test

Hi, has any body received oath date, applicant of December 2024, my wife time line is -everything updated except language skill ,last update may 2nd. from Saskatoon

Has anyone who selected a virtual ceremony during the application, later instructed to attend an in-person ceremony? Does this happen?

Dec 22 applicant, Jan 5 AOR. My last update was March 8. Only LPP remaining. let's see if I hear anything this month as it's the 8th month. lol

I just checked, and I requested an e-certificate when I filled out my application, but I was offered an in-person ceremony. It is my impression that they will disregard your answer to that question and offer whatever is "more convenient" to them.

Ok, that's good to know. I'm from Newfoundland and here they like to do big group in-person ceremonies. However, these are not very frequent which is why I selected virtual. Just wanted to know if they would add me to the in-person ceremony if it was available.

Is there anyone from Dec AOR who is pending Background and LPP .. all of it pending ?
My only test is passed
Criminality passed
but LPP and Security is pending.

I have seen many people with security pending but at least their Language and physical presence is passed but for me nothing is passed except for test.
I have ordered GCMS Notes and CSIS notes. GCMS Notes shows all of this is pending. and I have not yet received CSIS Notes.
MP Call is also not giving results.


Please let me know if someone else has same status (Background + LPP) Pending

Ok, that's good to know. I'm from Newfoundland and here they like to do big group in-person ceremonies. However, these are not very frequent which is why I selected virtual. Just wanted to know if they would add me to the in-person ceremony if it was available.

I lived in NL for almost 10 years, so I always check for ceremonies happening there, but they are very scarce these days (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/CeremonyCeremonie/en/Home). Chances are your ceremony is going to be online, but you never know.

I am in the same boat, no update since march

Someone recommended that I asked CSIS as well for their notes. My CBSA came back as no issues, but I have asked CSIS to send me my notes. The issue is that with CSIS, there is no time window for them to process any request from IRCC. They work at their own pace.

what does your notes say? does it have a security clearance bit in it?
