Hi,

I got an invitation to sponsor my parents under the parents and grandparents program.

I am confused about a few things:

1) Do I fill 2 separate application?(using the PR portal). One where my dad is the principal applicant and my mom is the dependent, and another where my mom is the principal applicant and my dad is the dependent?

2) for IMM334 only ask for information about principal applicant, sponsor and co-signer. Where do I put my mom's info? Information online is contradictory. Some saying you need to upload 2 of these forms, and in both case each parent will be the principal applicant. This makes sense only if I create 2 separate applications. Otherwise, how can I list my mom's info in the second form under "principal applicant" when I just filled out the entire applicantion with my dad as the principal applicant? I need to know if A) I need to complete 2 separate applications B) just fill out 1 form and C) fill out 2 separate imm334 forms and just combine them as 1 PDF and upload under the application where my dad is the principal applicant

3) I meet the income requirement on my own for all 3 years. Should I still add my spouse as a co-signor to strengthen my application? He moved to canads on 2023. So he didnt file tax for 2022 year. Will this be a problem as co-signor also needs to show income for all 3 previous years?

Please only comment if you have had first hand experience. I have done enough online research and found the information contradictory, so looking to hear from experienced people.

1. Only one for both mother and father
3. Would suggest adding your spouse if they are willing because you need to continue to meet LICO during processing. Things can happen during processing like illness, pregnancy/mat leave, job loss, etc.

1. If your dad is the principle applicant, your mom as dependent, when you fill out the application form, you just need to add your mom's information, you donot need to get separate form, when you start fill out the form, you will understand more.
2. financial evaluation form does not need your mom's signature, just you sponsor, and principle applicant, and co signer if you has one
3. if your income meets the requirement you do not need your spouse's cosign, question is did you sponse your spouse come to canada? If yes, you need to count him as well for the total number of 4, otherwise just 3

1) You cant add 2 parents in 1 form. There is a spot for principal applicant only.

2) Turns out I cant add him since he didnt pay tax in tax year 2022 as that's the year he arrived. He needs to have Notice of Assessment for all 3 preceding years. In this case 2022, 2023 and 2024.

My parents’ passports were renewed after I submitted the 2020 Interest to Sponsor form. I do not recall whether I included their passport details in that submission. If anyone has a copy of the 2020 Interest to Sponsor form, it would greatly help me to clear my confusion.

Hi there, I have following questions as I am confused in filling the IMM5406 section where it requires children and siblings information.
Question 1. Do my father (principal applicant) need to add my name (son and sponsor) and my other sister who is Canadian Citizen along with my other brothers who are in Pakistan? We all are over 22 years of old and are independent.

Are you sure? His income would only count from 2023 on.

Yes your dad needs to add all the children no matter if they are sponsors/co-sponsors or Canadian PR/Citizen or Citizen of any other country.

Thank you brother.

also, I am filling imm5768 form, there is a confusion about how should I enter the gross income as i switched employer in 2023. Should it be reported like below?
1. 2022-01-01 to 2022-12-31 Employer A
2. 2023-01-01 to 2023-09-01 Employer A
3. 2023-09-01 to 2023-12-31 Employer B
4. 2024-01-01 to 2024-12-31 Employer B
5. 2025-01-01 to present Employer B

That is correct. I had a similar thing as well in 2023. So the way you have split the employment history is correct. Now as far as income is concerned you need to refer to your T4 from each employer and whatever is the employment income you need to mention it against each employer. That is what i did.
