Does anyone know why the citizenship calculator is counting period from 30 june 2022 to 07 june 2023 to 319/2 = 159.5 days instead of 343 days.

I became a Permanent Resident on June 7th, 2023. Before that, I was an international student with a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) issued on May 15th, 2020, and expiring on May 15th, 2023. Prior to becoming a PR, I traveled twice to my home country—from November 11th, 2021 to January 7th, 2022, and again from June 30th, 2022 to June 7th, 2023. However, I’m confused because the IRCC physical presence calculator shows only 319 days of absence for the second trip, which doesn’t match my calculations. According to the calculator, I will be eligible to apply for citizenship on August 28th, 2025, but I’m concerned that the software might be miscalculating my days. Could anyone confirm if this is accurate or advise what steps I should take? I would really appreciate any advice or shared experiences!

I believe the days resident in Canada before PR, are considered as half days. And only upto 365 days will be considered (of pre PR days). Only those days, after PR is granted are considered as full days, for citizenship application

Basic requirement of citizenship - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...become-canadian-citizen/eligibility.html#time

As mentioned, any days during which you were a TR are halved (max upto 365 days I think)

I gave a generic answer elsewhere (please don't post a question many times!) but since you gave more details :
Your eligibility period is 5 years prior to signing your application, let's say you're applying today, that would be from August 8, 2020.
Dyring that period, you were in Canada under status between :
August 8 2020 and November 11 2021 : 461 days
January 7 2022 to June 30 2022 : 175 days.
Total gives 461+175=636.
Divide by 2 since each day counts for half, and you get 318 days.
Adjust the eligibility period a bit depending on when you sign the application and we're pretty much what the calculator gave you.
The calculation is always correct, usually, if there's a mistake, either you didn't input the dates properly, or you didn't understand how the calculation is supposed to be made.
