Hey everyone been long time since I posted on here , had tons help from you guys . Hoping can help again so don't do the wrong thing .

I'm trying helping my sister In law get her visitor visa with her kids to visit for my wedding .

They tried to do a eTA and were denied based on -

(• You do not meet the eligibility requirements necessary to make an application for an electronic travel authorization as per 7.01(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection

Regulations, as our records indicate that you did not hold a Canadian temporary resident visa at any time during the 10-year period immediately preceding the day on which you made your application, or you did not hold a valid United States nonimmigrant visa on the day in which youmade your application.)

I'm going to advise them to file a temporary resident visa application as that's my understanding from the denial ? They have all visited before about 6 years ago before Covid . But they just had to do an express entry type visa I believe at that time .

Anyways any help on what is the correct visa they should be doing or if I'm correct in advising them on doing a full TRV ? They are visiting from Mexico if thag makes any difference.

Thanks again for help

So their citizenship is Mexican and they all don't have expired Canadian TRV (not eta) or valid US visas? What do you mean Express Entry type - that is for PR?

Seems like they all need TRVs so they need to show their own cash in the bank, travel history and ties to return (job letter with approved leave, school registration, business etc.). If they are all coming then no family ties to return. Keep visit to a week for wedding. Not sure when wedding is but processing may be a few months.

Rules for Mexican visitors changed since they visited because too many were claiming asylum, trying to enter the US, etc. As long as they have the funds and ties to Mexico their previous visit and return should help their TRV application. They should apply as soon as possible.
