When I say remote communication may cost me more meaning there are things that are just easier to be done face to face and would cost more because of the remote situation, especially with more old school industries like law.Of course it's up to you, but the lawyer said they work with all of Canada and you basically doesn't have to be present physically at a court (if it even get to this stage).
remote communication is basically free these days
Anyway, what I know so far about pricing - 1st step $2K, 2nd step $3K, OR you could agree to pay for 1st+2nd step together - then it's $4.5K. and 3rd and final step - basically taking case to a court is ~$4K. I might be wrong tho, you're free to read about it on their website, or have a free 15minutes consultation with them.
I'll send you a link to a webinar recording with them, so you can decide yourself if it worth it or not.

The pricing is a lot lower than what I've seen pretty much everywhere else (less than 10k including going to court?), makes me wonder why is that.
Simply put, I am not really in the position to spend $10k for this, let alone more. Does it suck? Yes, but that's life, life sucks.I can’t defend my claim, but I believe you have a strong case, especially with nearly three years of waiting.
I’ve seen people with AORs from January 2024 making progress through Mandamus applications. Unfortunately, IRCC seems to be operating on a “first to go to court, first served” basis. I’m really sorry to say that.
So your status is now On Hold right and you knew that with your May 2025 AOR.That’s what I can’t understand?
My status is OPEN for 2 years till last ATIP on May 2025.
I think it doesn’t matter if open or on hold all the same
NoSo your status is now On Hold right and you knew that with your May 2025 AOR.
When was the last time (prior May 2025) were you applied for ATIP notes, does it say Open on it ?
it DOES matter !!No
My status is OPEN/ in process never been ON HOLD before since I applied for citizenship.
You don't even have to put down 10k all together. There was another guy who put like 1-2k or something and then IRCC requested 2nd fingerprint within the matter of 60 days and finalized his app. Most likely it wouldn't even reach the points where you have to pay 10k (the fees for the full process). Your AOR is January 9th. That is insanity; you have to do something! Otherwise who knows when your file will get picked up. This is a major f up my IRCC and it's time you start making some noise to get your app finalized.Simply put, I am not really in the position to spend $10k for this, let alone more. Does it suck? @GFLiam is On Hold, to this date everyone that Im aware of still waiting for ss and he applied before May 2023 have status On Hold,
check Citizenship act s13.1 , also some law firms demand much more $$ if your application is On Hold, which means I guess there are 3 tiers of processing:
- Lucky folks who just get their citizenship in ~4 months
- Those with Open status and IRCC is curretnly deadling with June/July 2023 applicants
- Those with On Hold status (I have no clue about the timeline)
(The above is from my observation)
It’s great to know that they are working on June/July 2023 applicants, can I ask how do you know this information?it DOES matter !!

On Hold means IRCC is totally lost and has no clue of what they are doing. To try and stop people from asking, they just say status is On Hold. Why? Who knows. Again, without proper oversight, there's no way to understand what does IRCC do.What's the deal with On Hold status? Does this mean there is something majorly wrong with the app?
I think you've seen what most people have said about mandamus - if it doesn't end up in court, IRCC isn't going to blink an eye, let alone move a finger. On the topic about making noise, the only noise that's happening is myself screaming for spending thousands of dollars and getting no where. I feel if media doesn't get on this or any powerful public force is on this, nothing will be changed. You don't even have to put down 10k all together. I have the exact same TL as you, there is no movement since Nov 2024 after I submitted my fingerprints again which were expired last year and I am all prepared and ready that they will expire again keeping in mind that federal officers are busy watching netflix during office hours.I am in the same boat. AOR July 2023, and so far only Test and Language are complete. Last Update was November 2024 when they requested 2nd FP. Any suggestions on action to take?

Well here's the good and bad thing is everyone's situation is different. We can't know if those 2024 AORs are On Hold, already close to completion or stuck for different reasons and the mandamus may or may not have anything to do with the whole situation. The other side of the coin is who knows what's going on with my situation. I haven't had any of the flags that everyone seemed to have, heck, I haven't even got a fp request at all. The last time I did fingerprints was for PR. I passed the test one try, never been asked for interview or more information. Only now my status is on hold and under some kind of investigation? What gives? I've talked to a lawyer (again - she talked me out of doing mandamus) that IRCC won't disclose why are cases on hold until the court. So...I really think the money for first stage, second stage, however many stages, the court...I can buy happiness more than trying to fight for something that I didn't do wrong to start with. While this may be the case, this is far from true for everyone. There were a few 2024 AORs who recently got oath dates after the second stage of mandamus. You have to ask yourself, are you willing to wait for another 3 years because it seems like your file is in a black hole and you're just hoping that somehow someone will notice it and pull it out without you spending any $. That's a good thought process but I don't know if it's grounded in reality. At one point in time, if they do not process your app, you have no choice than to pay the blood sucking lawyers for the mandamus to get the justice you deserve.
