I heard all PGP applications will get revoked ?!!

I see a lot of people are against Parents and Grandparents PR pathway, even some MPs said same thing too~
I read one MP on X said, PGP will get cancelled even for those applications in progress !!
I am so panic right now as my parents' application are still in process

Until there something official from the government, so stop worrying about random posts from bitter MPs and faceless internet trolls. Highly unlikely all PGP would be cancelled.

Essentially zero chance those currently being processed will be cancelled. That said many in Canada seem to have discovered this week that PGP exists and are shocked. There does need to be a conversation about the program’s feasibility and if feasible an acceptable yearly quota given the state of our healthcare system. Same goes with length of supervisa and parent applying for H&C. All these programs are placing additional stress on healthcare and many families seem to have an unrealistic expectation that all parents will be able to move to Canada and eventually get PR especially without leaving which is not realistic.

IRCC has done this before but that was under extreme circumstances. I agree that I don't see any risk that will happen now.

Jan to Apr 2025 alone Ontario had 2,828,548 tourist and just like super-visa holders they come in with their private med insurance but potentially hit our Health care system if needed. Poor health care system cannot be a reason to restrict people coming in....I understand PGP is a drain but is a smaller fish comparatively.

So realistically the best option I see is continued focus on improving health care system to make this country a preferred destination and result in in-direct benefits to the economy. too many restrictions will just close us off.
For example - This summer I have load of relatives from middle-east with Petro dollars heading to US and spending there, just because they aren't getting a visit visa to Canada.

I prefer to let people come in with their life savings and we need to convert that into an opportunity of growth.

Tourists come in for a period of WEEKS not YEARS

It’s about economics . Why should anyone be able to access a system supported by taxpayers when they themselves never contributed to the system ?
