Hi my parents Super Visa got approved. However, when we got the stamped passports back, the expiry date is stamped 5 years from now although the biometrics and passport validity is about 10 years. May I know whether this is normal?

10 years is not guaranteed but 5 years is somewhat unusual. Could be something g new under the new immigration minister. There could be concerns so IRCC will assess their compliance with immigration rules and regulations during their first visit. If no issues people tend to get a longer visa period the next time they apply.

Thank you for your reply. The thing is this is not their first visit. They came here on Super Visa and left after one year without breaking any laws. Their Super Visa expired and hence we applied again and the new Super Visa got stamped only for 5 years.

You can certainly ask for reconsideration and see if they are awarded more time if they have plans on remaining in their home country for a while.

You can send in a webform but likely just normal manual processing. Where are your parents from? Why were they denied TRVs?

My parents are from India, I did applied for them during covid , they said will not go back thats why they denied.

So there are still likely concerns that they will not return home after their visit thus the longer processing time. Parents not returning home and confusing supervisa as a permanent move is an ongoing problem. You could also order GCMS notes. Any irregularities on their medical? India processing times have gotten longer for manual reviews.

No there are no irregularities in their medical , they did visited australia too and came back in specific time frame .. Last time when i applied visa for them it took 2 years because of covid and end refusal came.

That is very unusual processing time. What type of government job? That may be causing issues? Would order GCMS notes before applying again.

My parents do have properties under their name in India, They are not working now.... During covid the decisions were not coming and there was a delay too..
