New PR card if passport number changes?

Im a Canadian PR since 2024.

I had a question if you can please help with.

Im planning to travel to my home country in December this year. My passport is expiring in January 2026. Hence, im planning to renew my passport now.

If I apply for renewal and passport number changes, do i need to apply for a new PR card? Or reach out to immigration for re-issuing PR card?

As PR card and passport are linked.. will this cause issues for me to board the flight or enter/leave canada?

You don't need to apply for a new PR card if you renew your passport.

Simply travel with your PR card and new passport once you get it.

I don't think PR card and passport is linked , even so this won't cause any issues when you board the flight to Canada.

Thank you so much thats such a relief. Someone told me to renew it, hence I panicked.
