Working while pgwp is being processed when missing conditions on study permit

Hi. I recently applied for my PGWP and am within 90 days of completing my program. My study permit is still valid but does not include the off-campus work condition (e.g. May work 24 hrs/week off campus). The conditions listed are:

1. GOING TO DEGREE GRANTING UNIVERSITY
2. MUST LEAVE CANADA BY 20–
3. NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT IN BUSINESSES RELATED TO THE SEX TRADE
4. MUST COMPLY WITH EMERGENCIES ACT / QUARANTINE ACT AS PER R183(1)(D)

I met the R186(v) eligibility criteria during my studies (full-time, DLI, program over 6 months, valid SIN).

Questions:

1. Am I eligible to work full-time while my PGWP is processing if I met R186(v) but my permit did not state it?
2. Do I need to amend my study permit now to add the work condition?
3. If approved before the 90 days are up, can I begin working?
4. Will the amendment satisfy PGWP bridging eligibility?

I’m in the same situation and I’ve submitted an amendment form to fix it. Have you got the answer?
But I think my case might be worse than yours — my study permit says I’m not authorized to work off-campus, even though I meet the conditions under R186(v). I believe this is a mistake on my permit.

Hello, I am wondering how did you solved this? I have the same conditions as you are. I called the IIRC agent on July 8, 2025 (last Wednesday) to ask the reason why I did not received the auto generated WP EXTENSION after submitting my PGWP, and turns out it was the reason. That I don't have the conditions that says

• May work 24 hours per week off campus or full-time during regular breaks if meeting criteria outlined in paragraph 186(v) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).
• May accept employment on or off campus if meeting eligibility criteria, per paragraph 186(f), (v) or (w) of the IRPR, and must cease working if no longer meeting these criteria.

But way back in 2023, I received a sin. Similar to your case.

I talked to a lawyer and now I am submitting an amendment to my original study permit, then will attach that on the webform for my present PGWP application.

Are you now applying for PGWP or still in your classes? If you're still studying, an amendment is okay. Hope you get the results asap.
