Can i claim asylum now after new rules implemented, im in canada for 4 years.

Why have you waited 4 years. You should have claimed when you entered. What is your status now? If a student or PGWP holder then you should be looking at immigration pathways like Express Entry.

• Asylum claims made by people more than one year after they first arrived in Canada after June 24, 2020, would not be referred to the IRB. This would apply to anyone, including students and temporary residents, regardless of whether they left the country and returned.
