Anyone who applied Supervisa in June 2024 and waiting

Hi, I applied for my parents supervisa in June 2024 but no update yet. I have requested gcms notes as well but they are of not much help. For the context I applied for my parents supervisa in June 2024 and it has already been a year..They say that the file is in security clearance... My father is a retired government officer. Can any one offer any insight or share their experiences??
Really frustrated with waiting for all these months with no end in sight.

Hi @Hamza4531, I'm on the same boat as you. I applied for my father in early July 2024 and have had no updates at all since then. The last time an update was made seems to be on Oct 4th but there was no updated progress though. Could you let me know when the last update was for your parents profile?

Also, I have been advised to contact local MPs. Have you tried that?

Same here. June 2024 and still waiting for my parents results. No updates since application, but on tracker it says it was updated Jan 2025. Their processing centre seems to be Ankara Turkey, but I've asked them what can I do with that information as if can I call them or can they give me an email? IRCC's answer is no to both. It's strange because the processing time for our country is less than 90days and now it's been more than a year

when you say government officer? is he associated with Defence/Military or any security agency by any chance? If so, you can expert more delay. a few parents with miltary background are waiting since 2019 for BG Clearance. All you can do is just wait. What are their home countries? Unless indicated that under increased security screening I would be contacting my MP to ensure it isn’t sitting in a pile somewhere.

Mine's from Iran, no defence or military association. IRCC doesn't have any info, and no one, can say where is it stuck or what do they need for us to get it resolved. My parents have just given up because there's no Canadian embassy in Iran either, and the centre in Turkey has stopped responding to ours requests.

Would consider withdrawing the application and applying again. Drastic but seems the easiest option if there are no answers. The situation in Iran and risk of not returning home will always be an issue but has gotten worse.
