Any updates?
Hiya

Yeah on 7th working day I got a call and email also from CBSA and they told me to go ahead book a flight and send us flight details. So I booked my flight for 27th March direct Toronto to Islamabad and I sent my flight details to CBSA by replying to their email.
Then they told me our officer will meet you at YYZ terminal 3 and give your passport to you.

I'm all set to fly, hopefully all go well and they do not make problems for me upon arriving in Pakistan ( my home country), I'm a bit scared let's see how all will go then if anyone wants i can leave further updates here as it might help others.
Because the information I am sharing, I could not find here on this forum, a bit of pieaces I could see here and there but the proper step by step info I could not get here. This is the reason I am keep coming here to leave updates as it might help other people who are in the same boat as me :)

I'm glad it helped ☺
If you don’t mind, pleased keep us updated with this experience. I haven't found any information on how you get your passport back. Do you get it before your flight or only in your home country? Until then, I hope everything goes well for you and you have a safe flight home. Thank you

CBSA told me i will get my passport at Toronto airport. They told me to report 3 hours earlier before departure and the officer will meet me in a designated area at the airport and hand over my passport to me.

Tomorrow is my flight, once I practically go through this at the airport then I will come here and update you. Let's see how it goes

Hello, do you have any updates? How it was? Hope you arrived safely home ☺️

Hi, I know this post is kind of old, but I want to share my experience, the last week I went to the office nearby to the airport, and in half an hour I got my passport back, no appointments, no letters, no reasons why I wanted my passport back. I just said that I wanted my passport back, they asked my PR or ECOPR and in half an hour they called my name and I signed a form, and thats it, I got my passport back!

Hi. Thanks for sharing. Still I recommend you to travel with refugee travel document. You can apply easily and get for 5years since you have your pr now. I know it’s easy to travel with your home country passport (for me at least). Because some countries doesn’t really recognize the travel document. Be careful.

No protected person should travel with their home country passport unless they want to risk their status in Canada.

You just got PR as a protected person and want to risk losing your status in Canada by using your home country passport? Canada is going after many more people for cessation and it usually happens when people apply for Canadian citizenship. Risking a future in Canada to travel somewhere is before you get Canadian citizenship is such a huge longterm risk.
