So, we got the email saying they were switching us to a virtual ceremony and then... nothing!

We had to change it, because I have an autistic daughter who is born in Canada, but who would NOT have sit through the ceremony, and since we're 1.5 hours outside of Calgary, we wouldn't have had anyone there to leave her with that we can trust.

Anyone have any insight into how long this will take? I have sent a web form this week, but of course it's the usual radio silence.

At least we know we're through the process I guess. I just want to get it DONE now.
I feel your pain! I replied to the email requesting a change to the ceremony, and then there has been radio silence. I ended up sending a web form to make sure that they got my request. After that, the "team" web form sent me an email reassuring me that they got my first email and that I should wait. This Friday will be 4 weeks after the change in ceremony request, and I haven't received anything. I also think that this is completely office dependent so probably my experience will be very different from yours since I was asked to attend an in-person oath in Ottawa. I hope that neither of us needs to wait much longer.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how long it typically takes to receive the oath ceremony invitation email. Here’s my timeline for reference:
  • LPP Completed: July 16
  • Citizenship Status Updated to "In Process": July 17
  • Oath Scheduled for: July 7
However, I haven’t received the official invitation email yet. Has anyone experienced a similar delay?

It varies a fair bit but not unusual. If you don't get it by 4-5 days before the ceremony (adjusting somewhat for weekends), call them.

But basically relax, everyone gets the invitation in time.

[I presume your dates as stated in July are just a typo, because time linear and all that]

Any one can help?
I received the Virtual invitation, but I didn't receive the E-Certificate download instruction email.

The Ceremony is Friday.

Any ideas ?

Just wait. Most seem to get it before, some get it after ceremony. If you don't have it day after the ceremony, then call IRCC.

If you have some special urgency you could call before that, but probably a waste of time - again, most will get it in plenty of time.

Thank you for your kind reply.

Yesterday I called IRCC, they said during the ceremony and/or once you sign the paper and send it to them inform them that you need the code to register for the IRCC portal.

My question is, is it normal that even after the ceremony they give the code? I saw many people got this email at a very early stage even before confirming the ceremony time.

Ugh. I wish we didn't have to ask to change it, but there was just no way we could make it work in person.

I sent the web form on Monday, so I am hoping to hear something back from them soonish.

Anyone is waiting for LPP
Yup. AOR Feb 14, BG done Mar 4, test done Mar 18. I'm at day 147 since submission.

I did feel better after seeing this timeline of a December applicant getting LPP done just this week on Reddit:
• Dec 23, 2024 - Application filed.
• Jan 7, 2025 - AOR
• Feb 6, 2025 - Citizenship test status has been updated to in progress.
• Feb 12, 2025 - Background verification completed.
• Feb 12, 2025 - Email received for citizenship test invite (virtual).
• Feb 21, 2025 - Request for citizenship test (Feb 21- Mar 22).
• Feb 21, 2025 - Citizenship test completed (20/20).
• Feb 24, 2025 - Citizenship test status updated to completed.
• Mar 7, 2025 - Physical presence completed.
• Jun 4, 2025 - Email received interview required on Jun 18(verification of identity/documents in person).
• Jun 18, 2025 - Interview completed.
• Jun 18, 2025 - Language skills completed.
• Jun 24, 2025 - Prohibitions completed.

I did some calculations on their timeline:
  • Submission -> physical presence completed: 75 days
  • Submission -> Language skills completed: 178 days
  • Submission -> Prohibitions: 184 days
