Hi! I submitted my application for PR (spouse sponsorship) in January 2025. I had issues with logging into my IRCC account, and I only recently managed to log in. Turns out, on Activity page it showd that they sent me a request for my IME in February (!!) but nor me neither my husband got ANY emails from them. None, nada. I called the IRCC directly, they told me to call my VO in Manila. I ended up submitting a form to Manila VO explaining my situation about IME request. 2 days later I got an email from them, stating that they still haven't received my IME and I may not be eligible for PR if I don't submit it within 30 days. I managed to get an appointment based on my documents number for IME which I found on my IRCC account so they will have it within 30 days. But I'm pretty frustrated. Is there any way I can prove to them that this was nit a mistake on my end? Even if I submit the IME now is my application status in danger of being refused based on the mistake that they made, not me? I'm still waiting for their response to my situation that I submitted through the IRCC website but I heard it takes time.

Any advice is much appreciated.

It's almost certain that they sent you an email which you missed. My guess is that the email ended up in your spam folder and that's why you didn't see it. That's the most common reason why people miss communications from IRCC.

First don't try to blame them, accept your responsibility and admit your mistake, this way you will have much better chance to get an extension for your medicals.

I'm not trying to blame them but it WAS their mistake. I'm asking if I can somehow prove it to the IRCC and explain why my medicals are late.

I was checking all my folders religiously every day since I applied, that's why I'm sure I did not get anything. Some technical mistake on their end, I'm guessing.

Yup, you might be refused most likely.

Ask politely for extension, provide proof of your appointment.

And, again, without throwing stones on IRCC.
I got a letter just yesterday where they stated that I have 30 more days. Thankful for that. Also submitted a form explaining why I'm late, not sure if IRCC will take that into account though.

The 30 days to do IME is the standard amount of time given to get that done anyway. Seems they are being pretty cool about it not being done sooner.
Thought that too. I'm going to get it done since I got an extension letter as I wrote in the first post, but I'm worried if my application will be refused anyway and wondering if I can do anything about it now.

No I think you will be okay, just get it done. I had to get an extension on renewing my passport because I couldn't get it done in 30 days(the US doesn't renew passports very quickly)
