did you end up calling? any luck?
Yes; spoke to an agent and they basically confirmed the info on the portal, and that the application is in Vancouver. They said they couldn't provide any details beyond that, or an approx wait time from this point on. It's just a waiting game now...

Any other folks from 2023 still waiting? Particularly those whose applications have been forwarded to Vancouver?

My parents are currently in Canada on visitor's visa, and their six months stay limit ends in April. I've heard I can get an extension by applying for a visitors record, but still have to look into in properly.

If I can avoid sending them back for now, that would be ideal for me.

They can certainly try applying for a visitor record. They are still visitors to Canada so there are no guarantees.

Here is 2022 application still waiting
Sorry to hear that. I am assuming you have called IRCC a few times now since your application is past 24 months processing time? What do they say?

Yes, while not guaranteed, you could always try for an extension. Another thing you could try is to get them a US visitor visa. Have them visit US. That way they could re enter Canada and get another 6 months (provided the visa is still valid). Another option is Mexico.

They always say it is in process.

My dad had several years of military services almost 60 years ago. It is in security screening at CBSA and CSIS.

sucks. have you tried involving your MP?

Yes, I asked MP for help more than one year ago. They helped to ask the process from IRCC, however every time I got the same result. Usually, they said the application is in process and there is no change.

The funny thing is that the processing time for a visitor record on the IRCC website is about four months. One can apply for an extension of six months at a time, so I guess I'll be stuck in limbo after submitting the visitor record application

please double check how it works out for visitor record but if its like many other situations, then it would be considered "implied status" and your folks would be considered legal and not beyond their legal stay limit until the response is received on the visitor record application.

I hope it doesn't apply to us and I also hope that it doesn't remain like this but per IRCC, average processing time for PGP is now 33 months! I checked it today.
