I am a Caregiver in Canada so I left my employer I was there for 2 years so they are Doctor and Lawyer. I left them bcoz they were frequently went for vacation like 10 weeks in year or more and they won't pay me when they are gone unless I cleaned their house like may be 10 hours so I applied for ei but they refused. So my salary from January to September 20000 gross so I applied for appeal at tribunal so do you think is there any Chance I can won this? Thanks in advance

I live outside their home so I have to pay rent and utilities.

Generally speaking EI is only available if you are fired and not if you quit. I don't think any of us can guess if you will win at your tribunal or not. Good luck.

You’d have to wait for the adjudication to play out

If they were gone for extended periods and you weren’t taking care of whoever , what would you be paid for while they were away ?

Was your expectation that you were going to get paid for doing nothing while they were away ?

Was being paid nothing while they were away better ?

Did you discuss this with your employer?
The adjudicator will call the employer to see exactly what transpired and see how it matches up what you said , what the employee expectations were etc
They just won’t take your word

As mentioned quitting under the pretext of getting paid to do nothing more than likely won’t end well

You living outside the home is irrelevant

EI isn’t a “ I don’t like my job insurance “.
