Marriage Certificate PH Citizenship Correction

Does anyone here experienced receiving a Marriage Certificate with a discrepancy in the Citizenship? It should be Canadian instead of Filipino. The authority said it will take a long time to correct and it will cost a lot of money. What did you do? Did you wait for the marriage certificate to be corrected before applying for sponsorship?
