Good day! I have a concern. I am a Canadian Citizen and currently on vacation in the Philippines.

I sponsored my daughter which is a 10 years old minor. She is holding a Philippine passport and has a canada visa, she is also a permanent resident.

Unfortunately I cannot accompanied her to travel going to Canada. I'm planning to ask for the assistance of the airlines during her travel.

Just wanna ask if is it okay that she will be going there as dependent immigrant sponsorship without me in Canada?

Also if yes, what are the documents my daughter needs to provide in Canada Immigration and who is the one who will signed in her COPR since she is only 10 years old.

Thank you!

Really depends why you can not return to Canada. Have you updating IRCC about your inability to return to Canada and why? Any changes to your status including the inability to return to Canada must be sent to IRCC or that is misrepresentation. You sponsored your child to join you in Canada if you can not live in Canada your file needs to be reassessed.

Wait. This is her PR landing journey? I will very very very strongly advice against her travelling alone to land (unless someone else has done it already and knows all the nuts and bolts). IF this is her PR landing journey, she is NOT a PR yet (this is a very crucial point!).

Here is why... Though it is unlikely, but it is not impossible that a person may be DENIED landing. This can be due to a number of reason which include missing or unrecognised identification etc. IF that happens then it is stressful and hard for grown adults let alone a poor 10 year old soul. Do not just think of happy path but also unlikely but not impossible exception path. A person who is denied landing and entry in Canada needs to arrange for their travel back and possibly be held for deportation. I NEVER wish for a minor, let alone a 10 year old to face that scenario, alone and scared.

One of her parents should accompany her back to Canada if she is landing. If neither of you can come to Canada now, then you should wait and land later.

Her step mother will pick her up in the arrival.

I don't think that will work. Someone needs to accompany her and take her through customs / immigration to complete the landing process. This needs to be one of her parents or a step-parents if that is who the sponsor was. They need to actually travel with her.

Plus if she’s an unaccompanied minor then an airline representative will take them thru immigration and customs .
The airline agent will NOT get involved in this .
I’d be surprised if the airline even accepts her for travel if she’s not yet a PR and getting her PR upon arrival
This isn’t a simple take the passenger thru customs immigration. Airline agent won’t get involved .
That’s not their job
