Hi, im inviting a friend on a visitors visa and going to fully support all his costs for stay,travel and accomdation.
Does he also need to provide proof of funds.

He needs to show proof of funds. He needs to show that he can support his own visit. You are not family and if something happens then he will be without funds to get home. There must be enough to support length of visit without using all his savings. Also needs to show ties to return, travel history and valid reasons to visit.
