Usually it is transferred if there is an additional complication. For example, a dependent that will stay behind, a previous marriage or relationship or uncertain/ suspicious home address. The local office will be able to investigate that more thoroughly or conduct interviews.
Mississauga only deals with clear simple applications. That's why everyone who has pre-arrival after 3 months mostly likely has Mississauga as their VO.
may be u will get interview..

Hi all,
Does anyone know how long the background verification takes? Biometrics were completed Nov 22.2023 and no any other updates except background verification in progress.

Hi All,

Kindly help me with following queries:

Situation: I obtained PR in Dec and will be travelling (1st PoE) to Toronto by the end of March. So I will obtain my PR Card & SIN by April first week or so.

Agenda:
To bring my wife to Canada ASAP and ensure her PR.

Queries:
1. Can I sponsor Spousal Visa before moving there itself? Or do I have there first to sponsor anyone?
2. What is the correct method?
a. Obtain Visitor visa first, move to Canada, Apply for Spousal PR, Apply for OPW based Spousal AoR
b. Apply for Spousal PR in home country, Apply for TRV based on Spousal AOR, Move to Canada.
3. If both are correct in Q2, which has better success rate?

Thanks in Advance :)

1. You can only sponsor your wife if you are on canadian lands. So you should be in Canada. I advise you get a job and get an employment letter to add it to the sponsorship application.
2. Both are OK method. For (a), you will be applying an inland application, and for (b), you will have an outland application.
3. I tried both. The visit visa when we were both outside Canada was rejected. Her visit visa was approved when we applied and I was in Canada, with a job and an employment letter.
So based on my experience, I advise you come to Canada alone, get a job as quickly as possible, start the sponsorship application, and when you get the AOR apply for the tourist visa.
Note: I took the risk and applied before getting the AOR. But based on people's comments, that's not the best practice.

Best of luck !
