I received a letter in the mail yesterday they are asking for additional information, and family form for all the dependents to be hand signed.
Did you not receive any email as well? That's weird that you get a physical mail. I'm kind a worried about our application cause we haven't heard anything yet from IRCC I constantly check emails but nothing.

I got the exact same email today, I had applied on Oct 22 :). What i find bizarre is they're asking as proof of relationship Aadhar card and Voter ID while i submitted my parents marriage certificate as per original checklist. I don't understand how these two documents do a better job at establishing the relationship than a marriage certificate, in fact neither of these documents even mentions the spouse's name.

The other odd thing is they asked for a new passport since my parent's is expiring in August 2024. They said the p'port should have at least 12 months validity, i dont recall reading this in the instruction guide, does anyone? I also find it odd that they are concerned about the passport expiry without looking at anything else, such as my income to sponsor, health exam, etc. Shouldn't they worry about the p'port at the end when they ask for stamping??

Anyway i find this all very confusing, looks like IRCC has an "extra" document checklist for each country of origin that they ask for whether or not it makes any sense. I'll try to collect and send these documents within 30 days like they've said.
They have been asking for aadhar and voter id as proof of relationship between yourself and your parent. Not to prove marriage between PA and dependent (mother)

My parents immigrant visa is going to expire soon. If they are unable to visit before expire what’s will be next steps.
They need to travel to Canada and land before the PR visa expires if they want PR. Otherwise you will need to go through the process of applying again from the start, including waiting for the PGP lottery to reopen, entering the lottery, and waiting to be selected.

Hello! I have submitted application for my parents PGP 2023, previously they had supervisa however my mom’s supervisa expired along with Indian passport in November,2023. I wanted to know if we can submit a supervisa application for my mom or need to wait for PGP? (My dad has supervisa until 2025).

Are your parents in Canada or India at the moment?

On the letter from IRCC it's clearly written as follows under my mother's name who's the dependent in this application

Proof of Relationship (DEP): As proof of relationship to your spouse please provide the Aadhaar and Voter's ID card for yourself and your spouse. NOTE: Affidavits are not acceptable as proof of relationship.

They are in India, I was planning to bring them in summer for a visit.
Best is to get legal advice on this, super-visa and PR applications have conflicting intents - in one you're trying to demonstrate that you'll go back to your home country at the end of your stay, and for the other you're showing your intent to live permanently in Canada. That said the super-visa now-a-days also shows the intent to be here long term (5 years) ... so it's a bit difficult as a layman to say how the two applications might be seen simultaneously by the immigration officer, or if one could influence the decision on the other

Hello Members, got missing doc email. They said hand signature is missing for dependant in 5406 form. 5406 was an online form and so not really not sure wat to do here. Do i just fill up 5406 manually for both primary applicant and dependant.

appreciate your advice
I got the same request you have to download the new imm5406 form fill it out online, print and hand sign it for applicants and dependents (they said even if the dependents are over 18)

Yes same lol. I had submitted their marriage certificate as well. My parents' Adhaar cards and Voter ID cards had each other as spouses though, even though their names were misspelled. I noted it in my email to them. The letter also said that as the application was not complete, it will be considered as complete and submitted into the processing queue once I respond with the documents as of that date. As i had submitted the marriage certificate, I also made the following note in my email to them -
  • As the marriage certificate was included in the original application and therefore the application was "complete", I would appreciate if this application keeps its original submission date in the processing queue.
did u get an email acknowledgment or something after sending the docs?

Hi All, for those that got emailed for missing docs, does the PR Portal submitted document status show "Returned". Hoping this is ok as long as we send back the docs through email.
Pls advice

@jay4121997 No need for legal advice. You can apply for a new supervisa. Would apply as soon as possible if they want to travel during the summer. They should not appear to be moving to Canada or when they visit Canada their supervisa. Until they have landed as a PR they remain visitors and should still have ties to their home country.

No, you? I doubt they'll send one. My assumption is if they're satisfied with what we sent they'll take it forward for processing and perhaps send us an application number.
I just submitted some documents that they requested and I did not get any auto response so hopefully everything is ok now.
