Hello everyone,
I passed my citizenship test on Sep 1st. Today, received a letter asking for Notice to Appear for an interview with a citizenship official and verification of identity/documents. I have not traveled anywhere out of canada since I entered the country. For my language eligibility, i had submitted my Master's degree. I am confused and wondering if this is normal? Thank you for any insight.
Pre Covid everyone had to go thru interview. Now selected few go thru that process. Nothing abnormal in it. Just a normal interview to check the documents and verify your language skills.

Not me. Online application submitted on May 12th. Currently, LPP is still being processed (and has been for the past 2.5 months). When did you submit your application?
Same timeline as you but I'm from Edmonton and its a family application.

I emailed them back - they replied within 4 hrs and accommodate me.
The email is the one when they sent you the oath invitation.
If you're worried that they will push the date too far, don't be, they will ask you first to confirm if you would like the new date or not before re-scheduling you.

UPDATE:
I did my oath back in Sept 29, now my tracker shows: Completed/Closed :)
I defs recommend in-person ceremony, we literally got pastries, cupcakes, teas, coffees etc. It was so cute and memorable !

Awww I was hoping for an in-person ceremony instead of an online ceremony but I got the online ceremony. I don't want to risk delays in the oath, even though I would prefer an in-person ceremony. So I'll just have to suck it up.

Ok actually question, how long after your original ceremony date, was the new ceremony scheduled for ?

Could you please provide your timeline? I suspect we have the same timeline probably with the difference that my BGC is still in progress.
My working theory is that they process applications with similar timelines in batches? Is it ridiculous to think this?
Most likely they do process applications in batches. However, since you're from Vancouver, I doubt yours is being processed in Scarborough.

It is true and I have no idea which office is working on my application.

PS, I read somewhere that if the local office has a huge backlog they can send it to other offices specially because everything is online. Who knows what is going on!!

The painful thing is that it's sitting in Sydney for months then to just be transferred. I wish mine gets transferred soon. Mine is in Sydney with no officer assigned to it.
