Spousal OWP, a few questions

- How long does it take nowadays from sending the application to receiving the OWP?
- How much does it cost?
- How long will it last?

- If I travel while on OWP, what do I put as country of residence at the border, as I am living in Canada (on a visitor record) and I don't have residence elsewhere.

1. No idea.
2. Was $155 + $100, but may have gone up recently.
3. It lasts until you have PR, because you would then no longer need a work permit.

If the cost is worth it for you, great...but based on your details in your signature, you may be nearing the end of the process. You may feel that the $255 is better spent celebrating once you are a PR!

If I remember correctly, you were granted less than 6 months of stay... if you don't apply, you risk being out of status soon.

Thanks, yes my application was going fast so thought it would all be done before the expiration of my visitors record.

At this point I will apply for OWP next week, so I can start working and get the RAMQ.

No idea but It's extendable as long as you are eligible.

That's NOT what I said. Please read my post again.

Once you become a PR, the OWP is null and void, so...it lasts until you become a PR, unless it takes you more than 2 years to complete the process...even in Quebec!
