Hello everyone,
my name is Tommaso and, together with my wife and daugther, we are thinking to move in Canada.
I'm a hilghly skilled IT worker, being covered Product Manager, Project Manager, Senior Solution Architect position for a big portion of my working like. I then believe I am part of TEER0/1 NOC. I am Italian and I am 38 years old. My wife is also Italian and is 44 years old.
We both speak C1/2 English, my wife being also French proficient (B2/C1)

I have spent quite some time researching what would be the best way to immigrate in Canada to start a professional career there, but I admit that I still do no have a clear path ahead.
As far as I understood, there are three main ways:
1 - Apply for an Express Entry
2 - Use PNP
3 - Use Temporary Foreign Worker program

I qualify for option 1 only if I have already a job offer, otherwise my score would only be 60 (I do not have a post-secondary degree). Same for option 2, this would only work if I have a job offer (aside some remote province where that is not a requirement.
Now the point I do not understand is with timinig: I believe I can find relatively quicky a job offer, but I understood that both Express Entry and PNP processes take months to be finalized. How does it cope with the need of the empoloyer? I would assume that someone hiring does not want to wait months before the professional starts to work.

Is there a way to start work earlier by using the Temporary Foreign Worker program, while I apply for either Express Entry or PNP?
I believe my question, at the end, would be: what would be the best way to move forward in my situation?

I thank in advance all of you for your help.
Tommaso

1. Are you eligible for Express Entry or not? Is your wife eligible since she speaks French and the government has been having French speaking draws. What are your CRS scores? Assume you have ECA and IELTs completed.
2. What provinces are you eligible for? For a job offer, your employer needs to be willing to go through the process and show no one could be hired in Canada. It is not that easy. Also thee employer needs to be eligible too.
3. Requires a LMIA proving no Canadian or PR can do the job only you. So you would need to prove that you are the only one who is experienced enough through work experience, education and possible language.

1- I am only eligible if I have a valid job offer. EE scores would be 70 with job offer and 60 without (minimum is 67). My wife would be in a similar position, as she would gain 4 point for the additional language but would love some because of her age (44 vs 38)
2- same applies here. I am eligible for PNP in province that requires already an accepted job offer

1. No, you need more than a job offer for EE. You need an approved LMIA (situation 3). So your employer must file and pay for a LMIA proving no Canadian or PR can do the job, only you. Few employers go through the paperwork.

2. Without a job offer, your employer must be eligible and your employer must be willing to go through the process and wait a long time for a worker, your options are very limited. You still need ECA and language tests. A job offer doesn’t guarantee PR as you still may need the points to be nominated (if PNP is points based). What province are you considering?
