Well my bg is in process since Feb, 2023 (Security is pending), in my notes status is 'in process'. SCR office paper app AOR in Oct 2022. I don't know its pending due to procedural delays or it went in Security Clearance which takes 110 days on average. I know its status is blank in notes usually if BG is completed (evident from other folks notes who had BGC). Also in my notes location is 'Grant Review Ready PMO1', I don't know what that means actually, I had test completed in March, nothing after that. Plus AFAIK, employment or unemployment has no direct impact on citizenship - this is what I gathered through seniors remarks on different threads.

Employment is used to verify physical presence. So unemployment/self employment is a red flag unfortunately.

20 months...unacceptable even if they have to verify stuff.

In the last 5 years I've travelled once outside of the country that's pretty easy to verify and also noted in my presence section. Files my taxes every year even when I was a homemaker (family stuff )... but then why not just ask people to submit other form of proof that they were in the country? There should be a standard procedure and list of available documents they could ask from ppl as a backup for clarification...instead of referring to higher a office..

One thing I've noticed:

Where the location section is... along with secondary office as sydney, (with 2 different dates before applying) triage etc has nothing written beside but then there is another part for type of language evidence....which has info post sec educ.. (I submitted my certificates and letter for courses completed in Dawson college and another place many many years ago)

Why is this the only one mentioned in that section? Could it be that they don't know how to verify my language proofs? They hung up on that??

After that section it goes to the client details...

Ps: I mean if someone is here for over 20 years it would be safe to say they speak at least english or french at an acceptable level.. especially after doing the test....

Rambling haha... I have lotsa thoughts and here is the only place people's actually understand the frustration...

Yes I share the same frustration! I don't think Language causes any delay. It's either physical presence (most common) or prohibitions (less common). Yes, they should ask for proof of residence upfront: I would be happy to submit bank statements showing my daily and grocery purchases, and rental agreements. But instead of asking for information upfront, they assume that most people are going to be permanently employed full time with a large organisation and with no gaps. To Those that don't match this criteria, they seem to apply some algorithm, and say 10-20% of us get referred to a Senior officer, who looks at the file once in 6 months. Eventually they Will either approve, ask for info, interview or a residency questionnaire (the dreaded RQ). Why they simply can't just ask for the info right away I don't know.

Thanks for this great insight you have given from observations!

I have never heard of the dreaded RQ lol

I'm going to stop checking my tracker (still be frustrated tho lol) and just live my life... other than vacation I'm not going anywhere lol

Unfortunately I'm checking the tracker several times a day because I have to travel lol. It will be a huge relief when this is over.

Nothing changed...
I don't know what pm03 means...
Montreal office and its very frustrating when I see couple ppl from 2023 january waiting for oath already:(
Anything for you? What office?

Hi guys, I received ATIP, hoping to see the oath due date, but I couldn't find it. Do you have any idea where it should be mentioned?

I don't have one either. But for other items due dates are all over the place, I don't think they make any sense anyway.

I've got a fresh ATIP mailout today, that was generated on April 20th.

The note about being referred from L1 to L2 is now redacted, the note is still there, but the text field is empty.

There is another note about Montreal call centre being contacted by MP office, it says "Status Enquiry (No Action). File status provided." That was when they said that normal processing is 24 month, which was not exactly true (it was 22 at the time). There was no other useful information that they provided.

Also, it seems ATIP notes were generated by a bot, the user id is XXXXX_BOT, so hopefully they are automating a little. But they still waited about 10 days to generate the file, and 3 more weeks to email it.

Other than that, I don't see any change. It is still assigned to some code with same due date of April 1, and is still Pm03 review ready.

I wonder if requesting these notes is basically pointless now. Seems they don’t provide the useful information anymore.

Not sure. Maybe next time that note will not be redacted anymore. There might be something useful there. Without previous notes, I would not know about being referred to L2, or needing to be reviewed by PM03.
Also, some people think that ordering GCMS notes can help the application processing to start moving. I guess it is free anyway, so why not try it along with all the other means to contact them.
Another thing, if I get a legal consultation at some point or go for mandamus, all of these papers may come handy.

I am getting a feeling that at IRCC things are going from more to less transparent, and the reason for secrecy is not something that's valid, but that IRCC doesn't want their performance to be judged by the public. Could be that I'm just annoyed because my application had zero progress for 14 months so far, so I see more ill will in this situation than there really is. It's probably just inefficiency or incompetence :)

When did it become non-routine? And how did you find out?
I thought you already had LPP completed?

Yes, LPP shows completed..on Feb this year, but when I called ircc and spoke with the agent, he told me, since you took your citizenship test OUTSIDE of Canada, it is non routine now..
