Sponsoring my wife but need to pay covid benefit

Good afternoon members.
i waa waiting for my marriage certificate in order to apply sponsorship pr for my wife.
TodayI got a letter from CRA that I was not eligible to get covid benefit and pay back $25000. I was unemployed during pandemic because more than 90% of industry were shut down.
I recently get a job. It has been 3years to get back to the industry so my wife and I decided to get married and apply for pr
My concern is that If I have this kind of debt to government, would I not be able to apply for sponsorship Pr? I reviewed canada.ca and It does not specifically say about it.
