Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for an advice if someone could help me. I applied my father and brother visitor’s visa last year Nov.2022 but their visas got refused. I think because my brother that time doesn’t have work, the main purpose for him is just to accompanied my father because he is a senior citizen. We provided their bank cert, employee cert of my father and also me& my husband provided our banks cert,PR card,Employment cert etc. Now, I wanted to reapply for my father’s visa only him this time, how will I response to the refusal grounds? The refusal letter state; length of stay is inconsistent, not financially established in county of residence, assets and financial situations insufficient etc. Me and my husband will shoulder of his expenses here in Canada but I don’t why my father need to be financially stable though he has his savings on his bank account. Can someone advise me if my father need to do a Letter of Intent for his travel, or I can response the refusal on my invitation letter? Thank you and appreciated for you’ll prompt response.

How long was stay? How much in funds did he show? He needs to be financially stable to show he can afford to visit Canada? Is he eligible for a super visa? if not, your funds are not as relevant. You saying you will take on all his expenses will make IRCC think that he cannot afford his own visit, using all his savings and will not return.

He needs to show strong reasons to return. If he doesn’t have a job then what are his ties to return?

There are cases of families fighting while they are in Canada and refusing to cover anymore expenses, cancelling flights and even asking the person to leave their home. People have been left destitute and stuck in Canada. This is why typically Canada requires visitors to have their own savings. There are exceptions and there have been some parents being approved without showing savings but in general for a normal TRV a visitor must be able to show their own savings. If parents don’t have their own savings a supervisa typically is a better option.

Hi, My father and brother has joint account in Bank their fund is around $10k CAD. My father is currently working that’s why we provided his employees cert. but my brother is not he just provide his mayors permit that he is operating a small grocery store at our house. My reasons for their visit that time was to be with me because I’m on my 34 weeks of pregnancy and I want my father to be with me and to meet my soon to be born child. Now, I want to re apply a visa to my father again, only him alone because Maybe their visa got rejected on the first application because of my brother status. I want my father to come and visit us and meet my baby and be present on my baby’s first birthday this October. Do I need to answers all the refusal grounds on my invitation letter or just submit a new visa application for him with that reason that I want to reunite with him and meet my baby? By the way, the first application I said he will stay for 5 months but I will make it shorter this time maybe 2 months only. Let me know what would be the best I can do for him to get his visa approved.

Hi, yes you’re right. Actually all of my friends who applied for their parents visa got approved. Only my father and brother got denied. One of my friend applied for her mother without any savings and her mother is not working, she said she will provide all the expenses of her mother here and got approved.
But father has his own savings, we provided it and even his employment cert.

Did your father and brother apply on one application the first time? How old is your brother? If you are 34 weeks how can your baby’s 1st birthday be in October? Is your father coming to meet the baby soon after the baby is born or for the 1st birthday? How much leave has he been granted?

Even 2 months shows no reason to return. How can he get 2 months off work? Savings are one part. Father needs a strong profile to return to home country. If brother is over 22, then they should not have applied together.

I guess on one application with my father is the principal applicant. My brother is 25 years old. I mean I’m on my 34 weeks when I made the Letter of Invitation and submitted their application I guess I’m in 35 weeks. My reason before is to meet my baby after she was born and to spend Christmas holidays with us. I applied for their visa I guess 3rd or last week of Sept 2022 and I gave birth Oct 2nd week 2 weeks earlier to my due date. This coming October my baby will be turn 1 year old and that’s one of my reason why I want to reapply for my father’s visa. I asked my father to take a 2 mos leave this time.

Yes. Do I need to to make him an Letter of Intent of just an invitation letter from with the strong profile and home ties of my father?

You send a letter of invitation. Two months is a long time to show that he will return. He needs to show his own funds, reason to return home (job letter with approved leave, investment properties), and travel history.

Was the mother and did her husband have savings? They are considered as a family unit. Did the mother apply for a supervisa? There are quite a few parents that get denied due to lack of savings so not just your father

Ok now I understand. The baby has been born already. If your brother is 25 your father and brother must apply separately. I would include an invitation letter of invitation for the next TRV if you hadn’t provided one. Would suggest applying for just your father and indicate that he wants to attend your child’s first birthday celebration. I would also indicate a shorter visit duration like 2-3 weeks.

ok. I will provide just the letter of invitation no need for letter of intent from my father? I will submit new application for my father? no need to response the refusal grounds on his first application?

You must respond/address to all reasons for refusal.
