they could have done something in the background, but did not update the status, but this conundrum is just insane. I also suspected that since we are moved to a new office, our files could be pushed to the end of the new office's stack and that's stupid
Did anyone have an update?
For any cases approved recently, I have not seen one from Vancouver office, and the latest one is from AOR in September.
The following is my timeline so far,

MEP, BIL: 12.28 passed
Criminality: passed
Security and eligibility: not started

Probably - I don't know. Have seen many recent PPRs from my current office (Etobicoke) but no updates for us
I thought it was very awkward to have the BG check as completed and not the info sharing (which is part of it)

As i am also in the similar situation having expired work permit so life is really difficult until I will get the decision of my PR or BOWP.
I am joining this thread having Vancouver visa office with AOR: 4th Dec. 2022.
Medical and biometric: passed
Eligibility: Not started
Background check: In progress
I think you can get up to 6 month extension on government documents such as OHIP, DL etc. by providing/showing your Work Permit Extension Filing Acknowledgement receipt at any Service Canada location.

In person! I remember last year when I renewed I had to send an email, but this time they told me the process changed and just showing the letter + proof of employment was enough
